Welcome
This is me Sandie Rae aka “The Silver Entrepreneur” business owner, wife, mum and grandmother with a passion for life and learning new things.
Having run my own businesses for 40 years plus I have been used to creating and managing my own work levels and lifestyle choices (the two are of course directly related ) if you love what you do then you will never work another day again.

Now in my 60s, more than ever I want to stay in control of how much I work and earn and make the choices for me, as to when I want to slow down or put in extra hours. Most importantly though I want to enjoy what I am doing and help others to do the same
Life’s too short for all the noise!
It doesn’t need to be that complicated and you can profit from your own life experiences.
Yes, you can find all this information on starting your own business in various places, including online, in books, and from friends and colleagues. But how do you know what’s relevant, what works, and what you can safely ignore?
I’m not here to sell you massively expensive” how to” courses.
In bite-sized blogs, I’ve gathered all the information you need to get started. As you progress, you can acquire more knowledge and use what works for your new business.
While there are some commonalities and processes required when starting a business, it’s certainly not a one size-fits-all solution for every type of organisation or the person running it. The difference between a large corporation and a home worker is huge!
Over the past forty years, I’ve created and run several businesses in various sectors. Some were work-from home side hustles when my children were young or I was caring for my elderly Mum. Some have been successful brands where I’ve used others’ skills and created a management role for myself, one that I built to
a turnover of millions.
During this journey, I have had some huge successes and some really big failures. I have also met some amazing people who joined me along the way, as well as a few backstabbers. However, the experience I now have is priceless, and I’d like to share it.
As we enter the second act of our life, it’s much more a balance of how much we can physically do and how much we want to do. But with women’s pension age now not issued until the age of 67 and even at full rate providing less than half the national minimum wage (excluding any benefits you may or may not be successful in obtaining) a rising number of us are choosing to continue working but dont want to do it at the behest of someone else.
Apart from all the physical and mental benefits associated with continuing to keep busy as we age, Money matters. It may not buy happiness as the saying goes but it certainly makes life
easier!
So my mission now is to help others, stay as young as I can, keep my brain sharp and have other things to talk about with my friends rather than our aches and pains.
Together let’s make new friends and have great experiences throughout our “Second Act”.
